Prisoners of the Ghostland Interview: Nicolas Cage on Never Phoning It In

Nicolas Cage talks in more detail with IGN author Siddhant Adlakha about his surreal new genre film Prisoners from the Ghostland – and just how he’s never phoned inside a performance.

Within the treacherous frontier town of Samurai Town, a callous bank thief (Nicolas Cage) is sprung from jail by wealthy warlord The Governor (Bill Moseley), whose adopted daughter Bernice (Sofia Boutella) went missing. The Governor provides the prisoner his freedom in return for retrieving the runaway. Strapped right into a leather suit which will self-destruct within 5 days, the bandit sparks on the journey to obtain the youthful lady-and the own road to redemption.

The cast includes Nick Cassavetes, Tak Sakaguchi, and Yuzuka Nakaya. Sion Sono directs from the screenplay by Aaron Hendry & Reza Sixo Safai.

The Prisoners from the Ghostland opened up in theaters, When Needed, as well as on digital on September 17, 2021.
